Luke Shepard - Board President

Luke Shepard is a native Oregonian, born in Oregon City and attended high school in Seaside, OR.  He moved to Parkrose in 1999 with his wife Elizabeth and their two children, who currently attend Parkrose High School.

Luke loves to attend volleyball games and cheer on the Bronco's and his daughter.  During his time in Parkrose he has volunteered at Prescott Elementary and Parkrose High School. Previously Luke was a board member and softball/baseball coach for Parkrose Little League.  He also spent time as a member of the Parkrose Business Association.  Currently he is on the boards of the Parkrose Educational Foundation and the Parkrose Community Foundation.  This is Luke's second time as a Parkrose Educational Foundation board member.

Luke is Vice President of Business Banking, Relationship manager for Umpqua Bank.  Previously, he was the manager of the Argay Square Branch of US Bank.

Allison Newman-Woods - Board Treasurer / Auction Chairperson

Allison Newman-Woods has her baccalaureate degree in Sociology with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from the the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.  Currently she works for Aon Risk Solutions providing sales and marketing support.  She has worked in continuing education at the university level and has a background in technical support, management, event planning, sales, database management, accounting, marketing, communication and facility coordination.

Allison has lived in the Parkrose community for eleven years and is the parent of two Parkrose School District Alumni. During her time in Parkrose she has led the High School and Middle School Parent Teacher Organizations and held a board position with the
Parent Group at Sacramento Elementary.  She is currently serving on the Parkrose Heights Association of Neighbors board and chairing the 9th annual Foundation Dinner and Auction.

During her volunteer tenure with the Parkrose School District, Allison has served as the chair of the Parkrose Educational Foundation, formed or rebuilt various volunteer organizations and dedicated her off time to improving educational opportunities and livability in the Parkrose district and surrounding community.




Rod Martin - Board Member

Rod Martin and his wife, Colleen, have lived in Northeast Portland for 58 years and have resided in the Parkrose District for the past 20 years. Rod was elected to the Parkrose Board of Eduction, serving from 2000 to 2005.  Rod also served three terms on the Parkrose Budget Committee.

Rod retired from the Portland Fire Bureau in 1994 as Deputy Chief after 33 years of service.

Ruby Falbo - Board Secretary

Ruby Falbo was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and moved to Parkrose in 1999.  Ruby has three sons, two of them graduating from Parkrose High School with the class of 2011.  They were involved with track, cross country and band.

Ruby served previously as Parkrose Athletic Booster Secretary and was on the Parkrose District Budget Committee.  Ruby and her husband Paul have, and continue to be, involved in volunteering for the annual Parkrose Educational Foundation Auction and at events at the Middle School and High School.

Ruby has worked at Automatic Data Processing for 23 years.



Darlene Curran - Board Member

Darlene is a 1969 graduate of Parkrose High School.  She and her husband Tim have been married for 20 years and have lived in Parkrose since 2003. 

Darlene is a native grass seed specialist at Hobbs & Hopkins Ltd., Pro-Time Lawn Seed a local grass seed distributor.  She also works part-time for the family business The Mid-County Memo neighborhood newspaper that serves Parkrose and the surrounding areas.  The return to Parkrose has helped a renewed interest in the agricultural roots of  the area and created the opportunity to explore local parks and green spaces.  Darlene especially enjoys walking the Columbia Slough Trail and can occasionally be found paddling the slough as well.  She is a fan of college athletics particularly football and basketball and loves the bowl season and March Madness.  She describes herself as a lazy gardner, filling her yard with plants that require little or no care, but offer year round interest and habitat.  Bird feeders, squirrel feeders and birdbaths supplement the natural environment. 

 

Michael Taylor - Board Member

Michael Taylor recently retired after thirty two years in public education. Prior to his eight year tenure as Parkrose Superintendent he served as Superintendent and high school principal in Ontario, Oregon. During his career he held positions as a high school teacher, department chair, counselor, alternative education coordinator and vice-principal. In addition, he has worked at the middle school level as a counselor and teacher. Michael is currently the development and planning director for the Academy of Architecture, Construction & Engineering (ACE Academy) in northeast Portland which will serve four school districts and five area high schools. He is also adjunct faculty at Concordia University teaching graduate courses in school administration.


Traci Rose - Board Member

This is Traci's second year on the board.

Londa Sundin - Board Member

Parkrose has been home to Londa since 1983.  She graduated from Marshall High School in Portland, Oregon and earned her degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Reading from Oregon College of Education in 1980. Her son is a Parkose graduate, her daughter is currently a senior there and her step-daughter and son-in-law are K-12 Parkrose graduates. She also has a grand daughter at Parkrose Middle School.

Londa spent nine years as a telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell and then was a stay-at- home mom until she started as an Educational Assistant at Russell Academy in 2003, providing reading support and running the Rocket Writers Publishing Company.  Londa was the yearbook coordinator at Russell for many years, has volunteered at Parkrose Middle School and Parkrose High School, was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and has served as Booster
secretary for the past 6 years.  This is her second year on the Foundation Board.

Londa and her husband, Vern, enjoy camping in their motor home, visiting the Oregon Coast and spending time with family and friends. Besides all things Parkrose, Londa's passions are yoga, zumba, reading, Words with Friends and being a parent helper on the State Champion Parkrose Elite Dance Team!
